The HIV Clinical Center of Excellence Constanta is organizing the second edition of the International School with the following theme: “HIV Medicine in 2010”, 2nd-4th of September 2010 Constanta, Romania.
Scientific manifestation is organized under the aegis of the Baylor College of Medicine, „Ovidius” University and the HIV/AIDS Romanian Academy.
The HIV Clinical Center of Excellence Constanta it is the result of the partnership between the Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital Constanta and Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) through the Baylor-Black Sea Foundation.
The current multidisciplinary services, offered through the HIV Clinical Center of Excellence – Constanta have been recognized by the EUROPEAN CENTRE OF DISEASES CONTROL in 2007, as a model of “integrated ambulatory care” offering “primary and specialized complex care and treatment”.
In this context, the HIV Clinical Center of Excellence – Constanta, presently serves as a reference element for initiatives related to care and education. In the spirit of the continuous medical education and that of the promotion of the Romanian experience in this field, the Centre of Excellence will organize in Constanta, between the 2nd and the 4th of September 2010, at the IBIS Hotel, Constanta, Romania, the second edition of the international school named “HIV Medicine in 2010”.
The main themes that will be approached will be:
- The individualized and multidisciplinary approach of the HIV+ patient;
- Risk Behaviors and adherence at ARV Treatment
Both themes will be approached from the perspective of the PMTCT service, the HIV-Tuberculosis co-infection and the HIV-HBV-HVC co-infection.
Doctors, nurses, social workers and psychologists offering assistance directly to HIV infected patients can participate at the HIV School. The following specialties are represented in the agenda: infectious diseases, TB, neurology and others. The official language of the School is English. The deadline for the subscription to the School is: July 16, 2010. The number of registered participants it is limited. The participation fee for all the School’s manifestations it’s 100 Euro for the foreign participants. This fee includes the training materials, the coffee breaks, two lunches and two festive dinners. The fee is non-returnable. The fee will be paid after registration.
