What is the urgency to tackle the HIV/HBV and HIV/HCV co-infection?

by AIDS-Hilfe Potsdam e.V. (AHP) in the BORDERNETwork Project, Publisher: AHP

The HIV drug resistance is one of the rising global issues and is closely connected to the management of Hepatitis B/C co-infections. Drug resistance requires expensive second-line and third-line therapy regimens, exacerbates the patient‘s prognosis and limits treatment possibilities.
In the frame of BORDERNETwork the AIDS-Hilfe Potsdam e.V. worked out recommendations, clinical pathways and algorithms in managing HIV/HBV and HIV/HCV co-infection.
