Follow-Up Report on the Continued Impact of Sars-Cov-2/Covid-19 Pandemic on Member Organisations within AIDS Action Europe Network
Last year AAE conducted a survey among its member organizations about the affect of the COVID-19 pandemic on their sevices and finances and published "Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Report" The current report "Follow-up Report on the Continued Impact of Sars-Cov-2/Covid-19 Pandemic on Member Organisations within AAE Network" shows how the situation has developed for our member and partner organizations who participated in the first stage of the survey, and how the pandemic has affected them in the longer run.
The survey shows that despite their resilience and innovation, AAE member organisations report that the extended public health and hygiene measure negatively affect their services. There are substantial losses reported in activities that provide community building and peer-to-peer support. In addition, the organizations have suffered significant distress due to the additional service costs, as well as redestribution of many funding projects to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The results of the survey also demonstrate that the COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately affects most marginalized communities and surfaces the existing inequalities in the society.
