On July 11-12 AAE conducted its Quality Improvement (QI) Workshop on Combination Prevention and Chemsex Interventions. Altogether 13 representatives of 12 member and partner organisations were trained on how to select and use one or more of the tools to improve and measure quality and impact of their interventions and projects that were developed in the Quality Action Joint Action. The participants, who were from twelve different WHO European region countries: Cyprus, England, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Germany, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine, exchanged knowledge and experiences on their regional and local work.

During the two-day meeting participants got introduced to the methods of planning interventions, inclusion of key population and stakeholders in the process, setting up measuring indicators and environment, and further parts of improvement and assurance of quality.

This workshop worked further as a platform of exchange and networking for international stakeholders and allies in developing new strategies or improving existing ones.

To follow-up the skills and energy the participants got, AAE has proposed to those member and partner organizations that took part in the workshop a small grant to conduct quality improvement exercise in their organisations on combination prevention or chemsex interventions. For next year AAE is planning a follow-up meeting to evaluate the progress they achieved via using the quality improvement tools.
