SPECIAL SESSION OF UNAIDS

PROGRAMME COORDINATING BOARD

“One case of harassment, one case of misconduct of power is too many. We are striving to get to zero”

This was the statement of Gunilla Carlsson, deputy executive director during the Special Session of UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB). The special session was called together to follow up on the situation of sexual harassment and abuse of power within the UNAIDS Secretariat. It is one of the developments of the situation around UNAIDS for the last 12 months that started from media taking upon the sexual harassment case and the inability of the structure to adequately response to it within UNAIDS.

AIDS Action Europe participated in this meeting because we think that only a strong organization that is willing to counteract any kind of sexual harassment and abuse of power is able to lead by example and serve the people living with and affected by HIV.

Report on the work of the Independent Expert Panel on Prevention of and response to harassment, including sexual harassment; bullying and abuse of power at UNAIDS Secretariat

The Independent Expert Panel was set up at the 42nd UNAIDS PCB meeting that took place in June 2018 to investigate the situation within UNAIDS regarding sexual harramsnet and abuse of power.

This report looks into existing instruments and structures of the UNAIDS and provide recommendations on how the situation can be improved.

People on the move - key to ending AIDS

This Report explores certain key global trends: increasing diversity and complexity of human mobility, the increased prominence of women on the move, the shift in our health paradigm towards a more positive appreciation of development and people on the move.

This report is intended to help renew and focus the dialogue around people on the move so that the 2030 target of ending AIDS as a public health threat can be achieved.
