AIDS Action Europe together with EATG and ECUO are organising the European HIV Networking Zone (ENZ) at the International AIDS Conference 2016 in Durban. This year’s conference slogan is ACCESS EQUITY RIGHTS NOW. We will focus on topics that concern the European and Central Asian region. Furthermore, the ENZ offers a place to meet and greet.

AIDs Action Europe will conduct its member meeting on 5 November, 2016, in Berlin. Please know that there is call for abstracts with a deadline of 24 July in order to receive the scholarship for the meeting.

From Monday 18 till Friday 22 July, 2016, in Durban, AIDS Action Europe (AAE), European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) and East Europe & Central Asia Union of PLWH (ECUO) are organising the European HIV Networking Zone at the Global Village, booth no. 611.
The ENZ programme includes presentations, podium discussions, installations, Q&A's and exhibitions. We would like to invite friends and colleagues, who will attend the International AIDS Conference 2016, to join our programme and take the opportunity to discuss with the speakers.

Member Meeting 2016 Scholarships

AAE holds a seat on the NGO Delegation unaidspcbngo.org  to the UNAIDS PCB for the period of 2016-2017. Ferenc Bagyinszky is the alternate delegate for Europe. The 38th meeting was held June on 28-30. UNAIDS was the first ever
UN body that included NGOs, representatives of key affected populations and people living with HIV, in its board. Besides the standard agenda points, the most important discussions at this PCB were about sexual and reproductive health and rights, funding of the Joint Programme and the role of communities in the HIV-response with focus on key populations and advocacy work.

AIDS Action Europe releases a call for abstracts for the AAE Member Meeting, which will take place on Saturday 5 November, 2016 in Berlin.
The AAE Steering Committee wishes to introduce this meeting to identify needs and demands of AAE’s member organisations. Furthermore, AAE would like to involve its member organisations in the discussion on how to support civil society movement at national and European level and to build capacities for advocacy in the WHO European region.

Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS

The document consists of new goals, targets and commitments of the 2016 United Nations General Assembly Political Declaration on Ending AIDS. Countries have agreed to a historic and urgent agenda to accelerate efforts towards ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030. The Political Declaration provides a global mandate to Fast-Track the AIDS response over the next five years.
