Project in the Spotlight: Quality Action |
|
|
Will my HIV-prevention project succeed? Can I expect that my HIV-prevention activities will be effective? If you find yourself asking these questions, you could find the answers through this exciting new initiative: Quality Action.
Because Quality Action:
- Prepares 5 tools which help with a check on the quality of your project or activities
- Trains at least 60 trainers/facilitators across the EU who support the use of these tools by providing technical assistance
- Supports and evaluates the use of these tools
- And formulates policy messages on the importance of quality in HIV prevention in Europe.
Improving Quality in HIV Prevention
Quality Action is the EU co-funded Joint Action on “Improving Quality in HIV Prevention”, which brings together 25 associated and 17 collaborating partners from 25 EU Member States. Quality Action aims to increase the effectiveness of HIV prevention in Europe through the use of practical Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) tools.
Tools
Applying QA and QI tools simplifies and enhances the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs. It will improve the effectiveness and impact of your work. Three tools (QIP, PQD and SUCCEED) are already developed and another two (including one for harm reduction/prevention projects targeting PWID) will be soon available. You can find more information on the tools and training workshops on the website.
Network
According to Caroline Costongs, Deputy Director at EuroHealthNet, Quality Action is “an important step in improving quality and effectiveness of HIV prevention and an opportunity to link the organisations working in HIV prevention with other stakeholders in public health, education and social services”. Quality Acton builds a network of organisations, trainers and facilitators who can support programmes and projects to improve quality. You can find the names of the organisations from your country participating in Quality Action on the website.
