The Correlation Network and the Trimbos Institute have recently launched a website on meaningful peer involvement. The website gives anyone who is interested in working with peer-based initiatives
direct access to an enormous documentation on peer work , illustrated with a wide range of peer involvement experiences. The website can also be used as a support tool or an educational instrument in training sessions and capacity-building initiatives.
The website is:

• a
resource of information on meaningful involvement,
• a
source of inspiration for all those working in the drugs field,
• a
work in progress as a database of information and experiences, continually seeking and adding new, inspiring and updated contributions.
Greater involvement of people using drugs is a key principle of inclusive drug policies and effective service delivery. Greater involvement brings people in and from affected communities at the front and the centre of health, social services and policies.
Topics that can be found on the site includes:
• What is the current
state of affairs regarding peer work in Europe?
•
Lessons learned from 25 years of experience. Key factors of success and failure.
• How can we
stimulate meaningful peer involvement in health and social service delivery and advocacy?
• How can we involve
peers in services and how can
policy makers and service providers support peer involvement?
• How can we prepare, implement and sustain peer work?
• How can we
track and document progress? The website contains a special section on monitoring and evaluation.
• How can we
communicate the results of peer projects?
• How can we
build strong collaboration between communities, peers and other stakeholders, such as service providers and policy makers?
• How can we improve
advocacy skills for dealing with policy makers and the media?
