NMG as a minority organization with immigrant background, we are faced with a limited financial resource base to meet our goals. We lack funds to run our activities to the needs of our members and the target groups. Most of us are volunteers and that makes it even harder to manage and run our activities to the detriment of PLWHA.
· Awareness - through education on HIV/AIDS to the minorities of African background. · Human rights protection - through educating PLWHA about their rights. · Counseling PLWHA person to person, through social and cultural gatherings. · Outreach, we visit PLWHA to give them comfort and confidence. · Prevention, we supply leaflets with information about HIV/AIDS. · Assistance, we visit PLWHA to help them with basic domestic work. · Computer education, to PLWHA as a tool for them to communicate with other PLWHA
With our limited financial base we, have educated 150 members in basic computer education, kick out HIV/AIDS tournament, supported and assisted in saving lives of 8 PLWHA while in hospital until they got better.
