Macedonian Red C ross is a voluntary, large, independent, nongovernmental humanitarian organization of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, active and full-fledged member of the Movement.
The founding Assembly of Macedonian Red Cross was held on March 17, 1945. MRC operates and functions as an independent National Society since May 21, 1992. The operation of Macedonian Red Cross in the state is regulated with the Macedonian Red Cross Law passed by the Assembly of Republic of Macedonia in 1994. Macedonian Red Cross was recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross on November 1, 1995 and is a full-fledged member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies since November 27, 1995.
Macedonian Red Cross implements its programme and project activities through 34 Red Cross branches and the City Red Cross organization of Skopje that coordinates the activities of the RC branches in the capital city.
