CfA on Affordability and Pricing of Medications
AIDS Action Europe is happy to launch the call for trainee applications for its regional training for Southern European EU countries on affordability and pricing of medications.
AIDS Action Europe brings together civil society to work towards a more effective response to the HIV epidemic in Europe and Central Asia.
AIDS Action Europe is a pan-European network of HIV organisations with over 400 members. The Steering Committee of AAE identified affordability of medications as one of the key issues in the WHO Europe region. As part of our work on affordability, AAE is organising trainings on pricing and affordability of medications.
The aim of the training is to build capacities of civil society organisations from the EU countries in South Europe for the advocacy on universal access to treatment and affordability and pricing of medications. The training will help civil society organisations to better understand how prices of medications are formed, what the legal barriers to affordable medications are and where civil society organisations can play a role in advocacy for reducing prices of medications and ensuring sustainable and affordable HIV and co-infections care and treatment services.
The training for the EU countries of Southern Europe (Cyprus, Greece, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Spain) will be conducted in Athens, Greece, 11 – 12 October, 2017.
The training is designed for activists who work in the advocacy field with special interest in pricing and affordability of medications. The language of training is English.
